Biography of the Owners
Mr. Brian Duarte and his wife, Mrs. Miriam Duarte, have dedicated themselves to teaching at a prestigious higher secondary school for the past thirty years. Hailing from the village of Guirim in north Goa, the Duartes have a rich heritage as traditional landlords. In 1998, they embarked on a project to create a unique ecosystem that would serve as an inspiration for others. As part of their commitment to the community, the owners provide free computer classes to tribal girls from grades 6 to 9 in the village, while also promoting basic hygiene and sanitation awareness.
Their three children , Dr Kimberly Duarte is a periodontist dentist working in Bangalore , keegan Duarte a mechanical engineer with a specialisation in robotics and 3rd printing working in Bristol , united kingdoms and Mr. Kohen Duarte, a civil engineer and proprietor of Duarte and Company, Civil engineers and consultants who has meticulously designed and landscaped the property with a well-thought-out master plan. He oversees the day-to-day operations and bookings of the property.
Duarte Farms
Located in the tribal village of Balli in South Goa, along the Cuncolim-Canacona highway, the property encompasses a farmhouse and a comprehensive traditional system for rainwater harvesting, composting, Gobar gas, and traditional firewood cooking. Mr. and Mrs. Duarte reside on the farm with their beloved Labrador dog, Pinky. The property welcomes pets; however, Pinky may exhibit some territorial behaviour. Outside the farmhouse, guests will discover a modern swimming pool party picnic venue and a diverse range of fruit-bearing and ornamental plants, creating a lush green cover over the expansive 20,000 sq.mtr property.

The hosts cultivate a variety of fruits and spices, including mangoes, coconuts, pepper, bay leaf, turmeric, chickoos, kokum, jackfruit, and other exotic fruits. Depending on the season, the vegetable garden may yield coriander, spinach, chilies, cabbage, and more. The property is surrounded by scenic mountains, and during the monsoon season, a stream forms along its borders, providing a soothing gurgling sound. The natural surroundings attract abundant wildlife and avian species, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. Guests can also utilize a four-wheeler to explore the nearby coastal area.
Forest Bathing
For those seeking a deeper connection with nature, guests can enjoy a forest walk and indulge in the practice of "forest bathing." This therapeutic excursion involves consciously immersing oneself in a natural environment, allowing for a rejuvenating experience. Numerous studies have highlighted the psychological benefits of spending time in nature, which is known to have a positive impact on overall well-being
Home Stay
The property currently offers two cottages. The first, spread across two floors, is occupied by the hosts. The second cottage, spanning 300 sq mtrs, is located directly opposite and features a five-bed AC room with an attached ensuite washroom and kitchenette, available for guests. Additionally, there are modern bathrooms for male and female day visitors. The hosts have plans to expand the property into an eco-village, complete with more cottages, a yoga centre, and space for pottery, carpentry, and upcycling workshops.

Situated just 100 meters off the Goa-Bangalore highway, the property has become a highly sought-after destination for families visiting South Goa, offering an authentic Goan cultural experience. It is worth noting that the owners ensure privacy and security by accommodating only one group of up to 15 people at a time
